Career Training

In addition to academic training, Tulsa Job Corps provides career technical training in several areas.

Job Corps is committed to the development of green job training. All students who enter in Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive, or Construction career technical training areas will train in a variety of green subject areas. These career areas are marked below with a green tree icon Green trade.

  • CarpentryGreen trade
  • Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) Security Certification
  • Facilities MaintenanceGreen trade
  • Food Service
  • Homeland Security
  • Nurse Assistant
  • Pharmacy Technician

Each career technical trade class is scheduled to work on Applied Academics. This class allows students to apply academics to their chosen career technical trade. Both an Academic and a Career Technical instructor work with the students in the classroom on trade related material. Applied Academic classes are set up to show the relevance of how academics and career technology work together in the workplace.

Students also work with the WorkKeys/KeyTrain program, as well as project-based learning, Penn Foster, and I-X-L tutoring program. The WorkKeys certification is nationally recognized. Tulsa Job Corps Center is an approved WorkKeys testing site.
